Installable dashboard and better AI discoverability

Installable dashboard and better AI discoverability

A quick roundup of what shipped this week.

New features

  • Installable dashboard (PWA) — The Logoo dashboard is now a progressive web app. Install it to your desktop or home screen for a standalone, app-like experience with faster launches and offline-friendly navigation.
  • LLM-friendly discoverability — The docs and marketing site now expose structured metadata and AI-agent-friendly guides so tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity can reliably surface Logoo when developers ask about logo APIs. Start here with the quickstart or logo images reference.

Updates

  • OpenAPI endpoint URL — The published OpenAPI specification URL in the docs has been updated to the current API host. If you generate SDKs or use API tooling against our spec, see API overview.

This week at Logoo

This week at Logoo

A roundup of what shipped across the API and dashboard this week.

New features

  • GET /v1/me account endpoint — Fetch plan, usage, and key metadata for the authenticated caller so you can surface quota state in your own app. Authenticated with an API key — see Authentication.
  • API key creation dialog — Create new API keys from the dashboard with a guided flow that reveals the key once and makes it easy to copy. Keys can be managed and revoked from the same screen.

Updates

  • Consistent error shape across /v1/* — Errors now return a stable code and human-readable message, making error handling more predictable in SDKs and clients. See error format.
  • Richer brand metadata — The brand data endpoint now returns more complete metadata, with improved classification between icon, logo, and symbol variants.
  • Aliases panel open by default — On a brand detail page, the Aliases panel is now expanded so you can see and manage alternate domains without an extra click.
  • Canonical brand URL in header — Brand headers now display the canonical brand URL when it differs from the website host, making redirects and alias mappings easier to spot.

Bug fixes

  • Reliable asset serving — Fixed an edge case where certain static assets could fail to load on the hosted dashboard. Logos and brand imagery now serve reliably across all paths.
  • Dashboard rendering polish — Follow-up fixes to the Aliases panel and brand header so they render consistently on smaller screens. See the brand data endpoint for how alias resolution works end-to-end.

Reliability polish

Small fixes to keep /v1/* responses and the dashboard running smoothly.

Account endpoint, cleaner errors, and dashboard polish

Account endpoint, cleaner errors, and dashboard polish

A round of API and dashboard improvements to make the v1 surface easier to build against.

New features

  • Account endpoint — GET /v1/me returns the authenticated caller’s account info (plan, usage, and key metadata), so you can surface quota state directly in your app. Authenticated via API key — see Authentication.
  • API key creation dialog — Create new API keys from the dashboard with a guided flow that shows the key once, ready to copy. Manage and revoke existing keys from the same screen.

Updates

  • Cleaner error responses — All /v1/* endpoints now return a consistent error shape with a stable code and human-readable message, making error handling in SDKs and clients more predictable. See error format.
  • Richer brand metadata — The brand data endpoint returns more complete metadata, with improved asset classification when selecting between icon, logo, and symbol variants.
  • Dashboard: brand aliases visible by default — The Aliases panel on a brand detail page now opens automatically, so you can see and manage alternate domains without an extra click.
  • Dashboard: canonical brand URL shown — Brand headers now show the canonical brand URL when it differs from the website host, making it easier to spot redirects and alias mappings at a glance.

v1.1

API access model and ops polish

Refined how /v1/* requests are authorized and made request handling more resilient. No breaking changes for trusted-origin browser embeds; server-side callers should now send an API key.

Changes

  • Unified access gate — All /v1/* endpoints (logos, /search, /brand/:domain, /name/:brand) now pass through the same gate: trusted Origin/Referer or a valid API key (la_*) via Authorization: Bearer / X-API-Key. See Authentication.
  • Rate limiting & usage tracking — Every /v1/* request is rate-limited per caller and counted against plan quotas. Over-limit returns 429 RATE_LIMITED.
  • Edge caching with Cache-Control — Successful image responses are cached at the edge with Cache-Control: public, max-age=86400, s-maxage=604800 applied when the origin didn’t already set one.
  • Bare-domain backwards compat — GET /stripe.com now 301s to /v1/stripe.com. Legacy path-style logo URLs (/v1/stripe.com/icon.png, /v1/stripe.com/theme/dark/logo.webp) also 301 to the canonical query-param form.
  • OpenAPI spec endpoint — Live OpenAPI 3 document served at GET /api/open-api for SDK generation and API tooling.
  • Logo query params — variant (icon/logo/symbol) can now be set via query string alongside format, size, theme, greyscale, retina, and fallback. v is accepted and ignored for cache-busting. See parameters.
FeatureUpdate
API keys, rate limits, and alias resolution

API keys, rate limits, and domain aliases

A handful of improvements shipped alongside the v1 launch to make the API production-ready.

New features

  • API key management — Create and manage API keys directly from the dashboard. Use keys to authenticate admin endpoints and track your usage.
  • Domain alias resolution — Aliases like icloud.com or fb.com now resolve to their primary brand automatically. This works across all endpoints — logo images, brand data, and search.

Updates

  • Rate limiting — Public endpoints are now rate-limited per IP to ensure fair usage. If you need higher limits, reach out via the dashboard.
  • Usage tracking — API usage is tracked per key so you can monitor consumption from your dashboard.
  • SEO and sharing — The marketing site and docs now include Open Graph images and metadata for better link previews when shared.

v1.0

Logoo v1 API is live

The Logoo brand logo API is now publicly available. Fetch any company logo by domain with a single request — no API key required.

New features

  • CDN-style logo serving — Get any company logo with GET /v1/:domain. Returns optimized WebP by default with support for PNG, SVG, AVIF, and JPG. See logo images for all URL patterns.
  • Multiple logo variants — Request icon, full logo, or symbol variants for any brand. Specify the variant in the URL path (e.g., /v1/stripe.com/logo.svg). Learn more in logo images.
  • Dark mode support — Serve theme-aware logos via path (/v1/stripe.com/theme/dark/icon.webp) or query parameter (?theme=dark). Works with <picture> for automatic browser switching. See dark mode.
  • Image processing parameters — Resize (16–1024px), convert formats, apply greyscale, and enable retina mode on the fly. Full parameter reference at parameters.
  • Brand search — Find companies by name with typeahead and exact match strategies via GET /v1/search?q=. Returns up to 10 results. See brand search.
  • Brand data endpoint — Get enriched company metadata including name, description, brand colors, social media links, employee count, and GICS industry classification via GET /v1/brand/:domain. See brand data.
  • Logo by name — Look up logos by company name instead of domain with GET /v1/name/:brand. Logoo resolves the name automatically.
  • Monogram fallbacks — When a logo isn’t in the database yet, Logoo returns a deterministic SVG monogram while AI discovery runs in the background. Opt out with ?fallback=404.
  • ETag support — Conditional requests with If-None-Match / ETag for efficient caching on unprocessed requests.
  • AI-powered logo discovery — When a logo is missing, a multi-model AI pipeline searches 8+ social platforms to find and verify the best match automatically.

Updates

  • Improved dashboard performance — The brand gallery in the dashboard now uses virtual scrolling for faster browsing of large logo collections.
  • Paginated brand listing — Browse and search brands in the dashboard with cursor-based pagination and real-time search.
